As we mentioned yesterday, we’re heads down focusing on helping you build ChatGPT and MCP Apps with our new Skybridge TS framework. However, we’re not stopping there. Once you’ve built your app, you need something else: a simple way for people to try it.

This is why we built the playground.

The Alpic playground lets you share your MCP server or ChatGPT App publicly by adding /try at the end of the URL. It opens a minimal MCP client in the browser that anyone can use. This makes it practical to collect feedback from teammates, product reviewers, or early users without asking them to install a client or to set up a custom connector in Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT.

Why we built it

Most existing playgrounds target developers and assume familiarity with MCP tooling. They are useful for debugging but not for gathering quick, broad feedback.

The playground solves that gap. It exposes your tools, parameters, and UI exactly as a user would see them. It helps you validate the clarity of your user journey just as you would get feedback on your website, app or dashboard! 

How it works & what’s next

The playground uses our own MCP client (we’ll talk about how we built it in another article), with OpenAI models and a cool interface based on Assistant-UI. $5 in token credits are currently included in all plans (including our free tier!) to let you try it out today.

We couldn’t wait to get this into your hands (and the hands of your users) but expect more features coming in the coming weeks! These include:

• A few more ChatGPT App features (followup messages)

• Cull MCP Apps support

• Authentication for servers using OAuth

Plus we’re considering enterprise features such as BYO model for those who want to try out how different models interact with their server.
